Response to Intervention
In Arkansas, Response to Intervention (RTI) integrates assessment and intervention within a schoolwide, multi-tiered system of support (MTSS).
RTI aims to maximize student achievement and support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs and includes the following essential components: Screening, Progress Monitoring, Multi-level Prevention System, Assessments, and Data-based Decision Making.

Who We Are
The Arkansas State Personnel Development Grant (SPDG) is a five-year grant funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs. At SPDG, we are committed to transforming and expanding Arkansas’ statewide coherent system of supports through competency-based professional learning and ongoing coaching to increase the implementation of high-leverage and other evidence-based practices at the regional, district, and school levels. Our hope is to shift from a one-size-fits-all professional development system to a targeted, individualized multi-tiered approach to professional learning.
